Next time you bring your garden refuse down to the municipal ground, grab all your locally recyclable plastic and take it along (remember to double check what recyclables your site accepts.)  A number of plastics recovery stations have been brought on line at municipal collection points in all major metropolitan areas.

Here, community members can deposit the recyclable plastic they’ve collected (like PET) and so avoid them being dumped in landfill sites.

PET can be dropped off at no cost, and recyclers will, in turn, collect from these centres. Additionally, there are Community Based Organisations that offer this facility, as well as some shopping centres.
