Categories of Membership
What are the categories of PETCO membership?
There are two broad categories of PETCO Membership :
1. Shareholder Membership
(companies who pay levies and grants, and for whom shareholding and voting is reserved)
2. Associate Membership
(organizations who are not represented in the shareholding of PETCO but desire to become part of the PETCO family)
1. Who would be eligible for Shareholder Membership?
- PET Resin Converters / Bottlers
- Resin Producers
- Brand Owners (Large)
- Retailers (Large)
- Converters, bottlers and importers who contribute PET recycling levies, as and when they purchase PET resin.
- Brand owners, resin producers and retailers who contribute to PETCO by way of annual shareholder membership fees, previously called grants.
- Percentage of shareholding in PETCO is allocated according to annual continuous membership contributions.
- Excluding levies, which are paid monthly, a single payment of membership fees will be due at the beginning of the PETCO financial year.
- In the first year, membership fees will be allocated pro rata (i.e. if a member joins in July 2008 they will pay pro rata fees until January the following year).
- Shareholders will loose their shares if they fail to contribute annually, and these will be re-allocated.
- Annual inflation escalations will apply.
2. Who would be eligible to become an Associate Member of PETCO?
Categories of Associate Members :
Reciprocal Members : Industry Associations, Recycling Associations
etc.
Special Members : Schools, Students, Section 21 Companies, Drop off Centres, etc.
Friends of PETCO : Suppliers to PETCO, Waste Companies, Recycling
Consultants, etc.
Professional and Corporate Members : Recyclers, Machine Manufacturers, Small Brand Owners, Waste Management Companies, Medium to Small Retailers, etc.
- In the first year, membership fees will be allocated pro rata (i.e. if a member joins in July 2008 they will pay pro rata fees until January the following year).
- Associate Members would not be allocated shares in PETCO and would have no voting rights, but all the other benefits would apply.
